Terms of Use

Terms of Use for Gallery Participation

This Terms of Use document outlines the guidelines and policies for all artwork displayed in the Gallery. Adherence to these terms is mandatory for all participating artists, committees, and other contributors.

Approval of Artwork All artwork intended for display in the Gallery must be submitted to and approved by the Gallery Director prior to placement. Approval ensures compliance with Gallery standards, including content and presentation.

· Family-Friendly Requirement: Artwork displayed in the Gallery must be appropriate for all audiences.

o Due to the participation of minors in classes, events, and art shows, any artwork deemed inappropriate (e.g., containing erotic or objectionable content, human or animal body fluids) will not be accepted.

· Original Artwork Only: Only original artwork is allowed in competitions, exhibits, and displays. Reproductions or copies of other works are not permitted. Prints of your original artwork is allowed but must be in a sealed package.

· Framing and Presentation: All artwork must be appropriately framed and equipped with proper hanging hardware as stated in the Terrebonne Fine Arts Guild Handbook. Sawtooth hangers are not allowed as they are incompatible with the Gallery's wall hanging system.

· Additional Guidelines

The Screening Committee strives to ensure all artwork is displayed to its fullest potential while maintaining fairness in arrangement and presentation.

ALL ACTIVE MEMBERS are to act as Gallery Host/Hostess (total 6 hours) at least once, twice, if possible, in a month, during Gallery hours which are 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. unless waivered by the Board of Directors. Members who cannot comply with this ruling must change their membership classification to Associate or Friend, affecting hanging fee. In this case, the member must return their Gallery key. Any Host/Hostess with 3 days of unexcused absences will result in revoked hanging privileges.


Gallery Exhibitors: A Gallery Exhibition fee will be charged as follows:

Active Member: $30.00 membership fee, $25.00 exhibiting fee, plus a 10% donation to the Guild on all sales

Friends of the Guild: $30.00 membership fee

Friends of the Guild with Hanging Privileges: $30.00 membership fee, plus $100.00 Exhibiting fee, plus 20% donation on all sales to the Guild.

Referrals: The Guild will accept a 10% donation on all commissions & sales that is referred to members from the Gallery

Exhibit Book: It is each exhibitor's responsibility to keep his or her inventory up to date. A form will be provided for your inventory use. All paintings must be listed on the form and a card (personal or Guild) placed on each painting with the corresponding number, Artist's name, name of painting, media, and price. This card must be placed on the lower right-hand corner of the artwork below the frame.

PLEASE NOTE Workshop compositions, instructors' patterns, computer generated sources, whole or in part, or copywriters' sources will not be accepted as Original Work.

Visual arts exhibited in this gallery shall be paintings, collage, drawings, mosaics, stained glass, (all with or without glass), small sculpture, pottery, cradled panels (stained or painted), and photography

Photography must be labeled, follow the same exhibit rules and size limits as paintings.No duplicate images. All photography will be exhibited in the studio behind the arch.Artists are encouraged to exhibit in other forms of art as well, and not restrict all exhibits to photography only.

Original jewelry is accepted with the approval of the Screening Committee. Gallery wrapped canvas art shall be accepted as long as wrapped edges/sides are painted. Canvas sides must be no less than one-half inch (1/2") deep.
Only original artwork will hang on gallery walls. *PLEASE NOTE All prints, giclée’s, and cards will be wrapped and placed in racks or bins. No framed prints will hang on gallery walls.

All other visual arts considered will be at the discretion of the Screening

Sculptures and pottery will be displayed on a free-standing base.
Framing with proper wiring is required. No saw tooth hangers are allowed. Objectionable art (erotic, extreme religious or political) is not allowed.

Exhibit Size Limits - Paintings and Photography

1 Large - 25 X 31 or larger, but no larger than 36 X 48, with frame.
3 Mid-Size - larger than 8 X 10 and smaller than 25 X 31, with frame. 6 Small - 8 X 10 or smaller, with frame

Exhibit Size Limits - Sculpture and Pottery

Weight limit of 25 pounds.
Base size 24 X 24 extending no more than 24 inches in any direction.

By participating in Gallery events or submitting artwork for display, all artists and contributors agree to comply with the above policies. Failure to meet these terms may result in disqualification or removal of artwork from the Gallery.
