Artist of the Month

My name is Anita Porche, and I am an artist from Louisiana.

Having painted for many years, I focus mostly on landscapes, striving more and more for realism. Occasionally, though, I’ll do paintings of animals, often with a whimsical touch. Although I have tried several mediums, nowadays I work with acrylics, valuing their fluidity and vivid hues.

September exhibitor is Anita Portier. Her specialty is acrylic paints. Subjects she prefers to paint are landscapes, birds and animals. She is self-taught and appreciates the help her fellow members give as she is painting on her sitting day at the Gallery. An artist reception will be held on Sunday, September 21st from 2 – 4 PM. Family, friends, Guild members and art lovers are invited to celebrate with her.

Member Competition: Currently exhibited are paintings of “Sea Life”. The next competition which is due on Tuesday, November 18th at the meeting is “Bayou Scenes”. These will be on display during the Christmas Show so let’s make an awesome display.
